The reduction of carbon use and emissions is at the very heart of what Carbon Leapfrog is designed to deliver. We have set ourselves a short-term target of providing help to projects that will achieve c.500,000 tonnes CO2e reduction by 2013, but we have a vision to be a catalyst for a low-carbon economy.
Carbon Leapfrog supported projects fall into three main work streams:
delivering carbon reduction and renewable energy projects at the grass roots, community level
helping early stage carbon innovators and social entrepreneurs accelerate their business plans
delivering carbon reduction and renewable energy projects in developing countries
All of which will achieve, in one way or another, a measurable reduction in carbon emissions. Data in relation to carbon reduction is generated by the projects and we report this to our professional partners. We are looking at ways to standardise carbon reporting and associated metrics and are working with some of our Collaborators on this.
